Palatino History
For over 25 years, Palatino has been beloved by players and teachers for our quality commitment that keeps players engaged with their instruments. Before the turn of the last century, new players were forced to learn on instruments that were difficult and uncomfortable to play. Getting a pleasing tone often required more work from students than Palatino's founder, Steven J Patrino, thought should be necessary.
Palatino was born to give players an option with a focus on immediate playability and a path to great sound. Utilizing the history of the Cremonese masters, our carving techniques allow the natural strength and fibers of the wood to generate tone naturally. Modern tooling and attention to detail ensure easy tuning and tuning stability, which teachers love.
Our wind instruments combine elements of the American, French, and Japanese styles and manufacturing techniques to allow each student the easiest path to proficiency. Our mission has always been to bring people into the joy of making music with instruments that the player wants to keep reaching for day after day. Palatino is honored to be your choice for a lifetime of music making.
